Timesheets Exemption for Denmark

There are no exceptions in the legislation of Denmark, to comply with obligations on working time timesheets are necessary.

Background:

  • EU Directive 2003/88 on working time - requires employers to set up a system enabling measuring the duration of time worked each day by each worker.
  • European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ruled (Case C-55/18)-  all Member States (including Denmark) must require employers to set up an objective, reliable and accessible system registering the effective daily working time per worker.
  • Act 248 of 08 May 2002 (Denmark) - maximum weekly working time of 48 hours, calculated over a period of 4 months. Local legislation does not allow use of the opt-out from this rule.
